Our History
Alessandro Amore, owner and head chef at Amore Pizzeria, has honed his cooking skills over years and years of experience. Having learned cooking skills from many different regions of Italy when he was growing up, Alessandro's ambition when he came to the UK was to bring the flavour of true, Neapolitan pizza to British palates.
After working as a chef for a number of years, Alessandro started a street food business. Having bought a catering trailer, the covid pandemic brought the country to a stand-still. Undeterred, Alessandro spent this time renovating the trailer and started making pizzas in his kitchen at home and selling them locally.
As the country emerged from lockdown, Alessandro began to trade at camp sites before taking on a "temporary" residency at The Taste Collective in Solihull town centre - He was there for three years! During that time, Amore also worked with Digbeth Dining Club; Trading at vibrant venues and holding their own among the best street food traders in the midlands. 3 years after starting the business, Alessandro opened Amore Pizzeria & Cafeteria in Moseley.
Amore Moseley is a little taste of Napoli but it's about more than just pizza: It’s a place to slow down, enjoy good food, have a chat, meet friends and make new ones.
100 years after the Amore family owned a bakery in Napoli, and with generations of bakers and pizzaiolo before him, Alessandro stands on the shoulders of giants.
